Hi Invelos,

Thanks for a great program first of all.. I just love it.

But, as I have recently moved, I thought it would be great to use the oppertunity to review my collection and update things a bit. So I started going through my collection, and of cause found a few I lost over the years, lend out to people who never returned movies and so on. Never mind that, to the main issue. Two actually.

1. It would be really cool to add a feature to flag titles by UPC. I have a bar code reader, and it would be super easy to run through the collection and flag movies present by UPC.

2. It would be great to have the option to make custom lists. Like owned, wishlist and Ordered. Then one could split up the list in say Blu-ray, DVD, shelf numbers and so on. Would be really cool.

Did someone think of this before ? Can it be done ? Will you do it ?

Just some thoughts,

Bjarke Vangsgaard

look in the plug in forums for MyTabs (will see if i can find it later). Mediadogg created a plug that does what you wish with custom tags because it was asked for so often.
you can download it on the plugins page

as for # 1, not sure on the specifics, but you can search by upc and select that title. There is a shortcut key for it, and its possible you can set up your scanner to send that before the scan (or someone might have made a plugin for this or something similar too). I don't think that will flag the title (the plugin might) but it does highlight the title, once its highlighted just press the space bar and that will flag it (and move to the next profile). Of course then you scan the next upc (may need to bring up the search box but again, think thats what the plug in was for) and it will bring you to that profile, press space bar to flag and repeat the process

And I think tlevel's UPC plugin will flag a profile when  UPC is entered - manually or via barcode scanner.
Thanks for your support.

For #2, you can create Tags for anything you can think of, and filter on them after you have set them.  This thread on tags has a lot of ideas you can look at.

The menu for creating Tags is Tools/Edit Tags... and in the popup window you can add or delete them. Play with it a little and you will quickly figure out what you want to do with them.

After you create tags, you can Flag several titles and set the tags of them all at the same time. After Flagging, the menu Collection/Flagged/Edit Tags (this should be called Set Tags) will bring up the Tag list and you can tick the tags that are common to the set of profiles you've Flagged.

I may be confusing in my short instructions, so if you have any questions on creating tags feel free to ask.
Hope that helps.
Kevin
