The U.K. dvd cover for the film 'The Last Man on Earth' (1964) gives the name of the director as Ubaldo Ragona. The film's rolling credits give the name of the director as Sidney Salkow. Both names are in the Invelos database for this film.  I checked with IMDB which shows 'Ubaldo B Ragona' as director on the Italian prints, and 'Sidney Salkow' as uncredited on the Italian prints.

Purely as a matter of interest, do any of you zombie/vampire/movie trivia fans out there know why this is? Presumably there were two directors on the film, but were they working jointly or did one replace the other? Was there any conflict, or was it a language issue?

This is the film based on Richard Mathieson's book 'I Legend' which has recently been re-adapted
under the same title with Will Smith in the lead role. A previous incarnation had been with Charlton Heston in the lead role under the title 'The Omega Man.'

I remember a short short story contest decades ago...

Story 1:

The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door.

Story 2, slightly shorter:

The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a lock on the door.

Story 3, shorter still:

The last man on Earth set a loan in a room.

Sorry, that's all I remember...
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
