As a classical theatre freak I've noticed a peculiar sort of double dipping in recent BBC compilations. They release one series of author/playwright compilations, and another of player (so far only actress) compilations. So we get, on the one side, sets of Dickens (two), Shaw, Chekhov (released today), Eliot, Trollope, Gaskell, Ibsen, Austen, Coward, and Wilde; and on the other, sets devoted to Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and Helen Mirren. This means that we get the same production of Shaw's "The Millionairess" in Shaw and Maggie Smith; the same of Shaw's "The Apple Cart" in Shaw and Helen Mirren; and the same two productions of Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" in Chekhov and Judi Dench. Hope I don't find myself with an entire collection of duplicates as time goes on....
