In the event that Anheuser Busch is taken over by InBev, I will need to look for another American beer.... I am thinking Samuel Adams....  What ya'll drink?

The brand would take a big hit if this deal goes through.  One of the biggest selling points is that it is an 'American beer'.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

An American beer?  Seriously?

I prefer mine darker and European but have never minded Shiner Bock, or any of the Shiner beers.

(Now that i read the FAQ they may not be available in Ireland...but the FAQ has some entertainment value.)
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Might I suggest trying the all American (and quite possibly local) micro-brews? Every city I've ever lived in has had 'em, so I guess they're everywhere...

Shiner Bock is very close to being the most perfect beer ever. Not dark, not heavy. Tasty. Enhances anything which tastes good with a beer.

The only American beer that stands up to and surpasses Shiner Bock (in my humbly humble opinion) is Anchor Steam. Which is an amazing beer with wonderful character.

I will drink either, any time. Both set world standards of high quality, remarkable taste, and simple pleasure.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Dare I say it?  I couldn't agree more with Skip on the Guiness comment.

Love it!

My family has a long association with Guinness; focussing primarily on it's consumption.

However a distant relative tragically suffered a fatal accident by falling into a vat of Guinness. Apparently it took him several hours to drown........

.......as he had to get out several times to go to the bathroom!

All except one finnish beer brands have been sold to big European companies. All sell their beer as "finnish", eventhough none except one arent. People forget all too easily to be honest. I personally try to support local companys.

Though must say i often find myself buying some cheap European brands. US beer here is hard to find and when you do its expensive. e.g. Budweiser is like 5€/l, when you can get the regular ones for as low as 2,50€/l.

With me for beers its quantity over quality

You horrible man!

About time some of our Belgian fellow users step in and explain to you the joys their little kingdom has to offer when it comes to quality of beer! My favourite hangout sells over 200 types of Belgian beer - some of the flavours are beyond imagination!

Stella Artois is IMO one of the best beer-brands in the world! Shame I can't find in it any stores in my hometown..
