Opera 9.5 Final Released
Opera 9.5 Final was just released by Opera Software. Kind of a surprise I guess. Now who expected it to be released so fast after their 1st Release Candidate?
Opera 9.5 has a lot of new features and various improvements such as...

(Dutch)
De Noorse browserdwerg Opera heeft een nieuwe versie van haar browser gepresenteerd die gebruikers tegen malware-aanvallen moet beschermen

Yeah, I've been using it for a day now. Lightning fast and even safer than earlier releases (which already beat the crap out of Firefox and IE in terms of safety). Opera rules!

you can make it even faster:

check OFF at bottom left: special effects.

For your information: the 9.50 release includes new storage and indexing formats for Opera Mail. So yes, you'd better backup first.

Edit: the - jubilant - CNET Review of the new release can be found here.

Use the export function.
You should immediately update to at least 9.27, because the closed leak concerning the Adobe-Flash Plugin is now really becoming a topic.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Sounds ominous. You'd better take action immediately to clean your system AND to back up your email and upgrade to Opera 9.5.

First Aid: Disable Java and Scripting Host and take your computer offline, inform your admin he should know what to do. Although I can't make you too much hope here, if you really got one of the more malicious ones all you can do is a clean reinstall (incl. new BIOS!!).
But before taking such actions please check your Adobe-Update settings, if you didn't change the default settings it updates automatically, so it could well be that the changing of the launchfiles is a legit action.

I really hope that nothing serious has happened.

That message may mean simply that Flash updated itself and registered a startup program to finalize installation.  Have it checked but don't be too quick to wipe.  Good luck!
