I loan a few movies occasionally to our family members, and under 2.4/2.5 it was quite easy to find what was out and who had them.

Where is this under 3.0 ?
I can find the tab for creating new loan history but where is the old or current?

You can filter for loaned out from the 'personal' tab in the filters window.

I was trying to find it in the upper part of the program all along the task bar and other hidden tabs up top.

But at this point I can find the loan history but it appears to be very complicated as I have accidently hit somnething that gives me a 'default button' on the bottom, so I have temparily lost the tabs..,
plus if I have loaned out 4 videos I can only see one and can't figure how to scroll through the others.

Not sure about the complicated Loan History access, but "Default" is not a button, it's simply the name of the database in use.

I do have a default setting for View,, But where is the filter key is what I'm looking for to get to the loan status., where would that be? and how can you easily close down the operation and start from fresh when reopened?, or I.E  the data  base look from five minutes before?

The Default you see in the bottom left corner is not the view, but the Database...

As for the Loaned filter:
In the small filter window you should see two arrows in the top right corner. Use these to get to the "hidden" filter menus.
