So long Rufus.

http://www.etonline.com/news/2008/06/62841/index.html

ET breaks the news that comedian George Carlin has died from heart failure. The man who made famous the "seven words you can never say on television" passed away at 5:55 p.m. Sunday at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, his longtime publicist said. He was 71.

Carlin, who has had several heart attacks and a history of cardiac issues, went into the hospital this afternoon after complaining of heart problems.

Carlin has more than 20 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, numerous TV and movie roles, and three best-selling books to his credit. Last year, he celebrated his 50th year in show business, and he had just finished his last HBO special in March, "It's Bad for Ya."

Rest in peace George.... Ohhh wait that doesn't mean I am trying to force you to rest in peace. After all you may not feel like resting in peace. George Carlin do as you wanna do.

Oh boy.... this is a little shock

So funny, not afraid of subjects and still he is able at such age to get all the audiences to laugh.

2 of his best ones;

Natural Disasters (a joke lasting 6+ minutes)

Religion

True, a little shocking despite his age and medical history...

Thinking back... I remember George Carlin to be the very first stand-up comedian I have ever seen. He also turned out to be my favorite. He will definitely be missed. I may have to watch one my Carlin DVDs.

On NPR this morning they played a clip of one of his bits on commercialism." We buy stuff, then have to buy a new house to put our new stuff, and there is a whole Storage business  to help us store our stuff!"
(But much funnier than what I just typed. )

And I can't help think how that applies to all us here with our "What DVDs have you bought this week?", and the never ending, "How do you store your collection?" threads.

Darn, I just said 3 of the words typing and correcting my spelling!

Now if they only would put his FOX series on DVD! (More stuff!!!  )

That's the thing about racism, though, most of it is covert.
