The topic has been brought up where a photo should be of the actors prime or when they were most active in film. However, it is effectively impossible for me to judge which head shot should be picked over the other simply because I don't know when everyone was most active in film or their prime.
If you choose a head shot of the actor in their prime, it will be solely at my discretion which photograph I prefer. I will chose which one they seem to look better in. | | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| | Posted: | | | | This is a great question. When I pull up a movie, I really enjoy perusing the cast, with all sorts sof mixed feelings. For example, when I see Margot Kidder or Christopher Reeve ... makes me so sad. The comic was a staple of mine when I was a kid, I wouldn't miss a TV episode (old B&W version), and the movie with Margot, et al, I could watch (and did) over and over ... What I would love to have is a "Cast Gallery" feature or plugin. It could resemble the Collection Gallery and have tools for assembling a limited library of favorite photos of your favorite cast members. And maybe you could pick the "lead" photo that appears by default in the cast review pane. Many actors have aged quite gracefully over the years and have a definite personna associated with a certain look or major film over time - the list is long - you know them well. (Edit: and what about child stars ... there's a real dilemma, or maybe there is a feature I'm not aware of of that allows for this?) Anyway, sorry for the long-winded rant. Actually, this would be more critical for actors less well know than either of them. One value of the headshot is to help figure out who a person is in the cast. If the actor is a child in a particular film, his adult image won't help you identify him and vice versa if you're looking at one of his adult roles.
That reminds me. I watched Asteroid on Sci-Fi on Sunday. It wasn't a very good film, but nothing else was on worth watching. Michael Weatherly (NCIS) was in it, but I scarcely recognized him -- and that film was only about 10 years old. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

| | Posted: | | | | I tend to like them in their prime. Actors who have been around for decades generally are familiar enough to recognize when older/ younger, unless they work very little over the years.
I also have a preference quirk...I like them in B&W, I have spent hours converting all head shots. Not sure why...I think its an OCD consistency thing. |
