Pics could really help to find an appropriate name. Due to the fact that we are international here, this thread could last many, many pages. I give you an example of all my cats I have and had:

Felix
Carlo
Fridolin-Oscar
Paul-Kermit
Clarissa
Toby

Other cats I know from friends and family, are Wiki, Tecumseh, Othello and many others. Good luck to find a good name!

Whatever you do, never name any pet with a name you suspect a human might have. A buddy had a cat named Ralph (due to an act the kitten performed the first few minutes of being in his new home). Needless to say the buddy wound up working for a Ralph a few years later. The (boss) Ralph had one of the world's worst comb-overs and bristled if anyone mentioned bad hair. (You gotta alraedy know what's coming.) Human Ralph overheard a conversation about Ralph the cat's habit of rolling around outside, and how he rolled through some stinky stuff and had to be shampooed, but that there was still stuff sticking the fur together which had to but cut, leaving a big bald patch. Boss Ralph heard "Ralph... sticky hair... cut him bald" and was ready to can my buddy. Then, upon explanation, didn't believe that the cat was named before my buddy went to work for combover Ralph.

Never give a pet a name a human could have. You will regret it.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

We have named our last four adopted cats after our favorite movie, or TV/Movie characters.
The first was the old cliche' an orange tabby named Tigger.

A black cat named Hal (2001) but also works for the Halloween reference since we rescued him early October.

Our late cate who was White with Black spots like some cattle I named after one of my favorite movies, "Chisum".

And finally the one that gets puzzled looks from many folks,
N'Toth a Grey & Pink Calico named after a Babylon 5 character.
She has the same eyes a the members of that race, and after all aren't all cats alien?

Yepp, or Perdita X Nitt

Or completely different (and only working if it's black and white) is "Private" (Cute and cuddly / Madagascar)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Well, maybe every born kitty has already a name. It's the human's job to discover it!

The naming of cats is a difficult matter
It isn't just one of your holiday games
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you a cat must have three different names

First of all, there's the name that the family use daily
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey
All of them sensible, everyday names

There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames
Such as Plato, Admetas, Electra, Demeter
But all of them sensible everyday names

But I tell you a cat needs a name that's particular
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?

Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo or Coricopat
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum
Names that never belong to more than one cat

But above and beyond there's still one name left over
And that is the name that you never will guess
The name that no human research can discover
But the cat himself knows, and will never confess

When you notice a cat in profound meditation
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought
Of the thought
Of the thought
Of his name

His ineffable effable effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular name

I'm actually a little disappointed with all of you... What's wrong with simply naming it "LolCat?"

Our friend's cat, Willow, has just given birth (on my birthday last week) to three kittens which are going to be joining our family so more naming ahoy in a few weeks when we can find out what sex they are!
