Estelle Getty passes. She was always my favorite spunky Golden Girl. She'll be missed.

She's in a better place.  If you can believe Entertainment Tonight and other media sources, Estelle Getty had long lost the ability to know who she was or who her family and frends were due to Alzheimer's.  Go with God, Ms. Getty.

I wonder why I thought she passed away years ago??  maybe her character did so on the TV show??
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Years ago I remember reading that although she was the youngest of the Golden Girls she played the oldest.  Maybe this is why.  Either way Good Luck Mrs. Getty, wherever you are...

I think Rue McClanahan said it best...

"Don't feel sad about her passing. She will always be with us in her crowning achievement, Sophia."

The lyrics by Andrew Gold seem very apt now

"Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
Your heart is true your a pal and a confidant.

And if you through a party
Invited everyone you ever knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say thank you for being a friend."
