Hi,

is there option to compare databases?

The thing is, about 6 months ago I updated my database more or less completely for all I own.

After that, I didn't update until few days ago. For some reason, I started new database instead of adding new titles to the old database.

After completing the update, I noticed I had 17 movies less than in the old database, even though I'd guess I've bought some 30-50 movies in past 6 months. Now I'm wondering where those missing movies are, but also what they are. (I had all my movies in boxes for small amount of time, so I'm guessing one box is missing).

So is there a method for comparing the databases to see what titles are missing?

I tried to search the forum for solution, but I couldn't find if anyone asked similar issue.

DVD Profiler does not have such comparison built in.

However, you could export both databases to CSV and then compare it with some software that does that (Compare It! or maybe even directly in Excel...)

Or you can export to XML and use a program like Beyond Compare to diff them.

Since the XML export exports in UPC/Disc ID sequential order, it should make it pretty easy to spot the differences.

BC also has a CSV comparison plugin.

Without using the clever exporting type thing above probably printing them out in a report which just lists the title will probably allow a simple side-by-side way to compare them.
