I have bought a few favorite movies on blu that I already owned on DVD, like Terminator, T2 and Die Hard. On my 40" Sony LCD the difference in PQ between a good DVD (upscaled) and Blu-Ray is not that exceptional. I often find a more drastic difference in the audio than in the video. But given the limited selection of Blu-Ray releases, I'll probably keep buying DVDs for a long time. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

If something comes out like The Mist that I really, really want, but it's DVD only, I spend that money on some other movies that is on Blu-ray and wait (and it paid off with The Mist  ) If I can't find anything I want on Blu-ray, I hold on to my money, because there's a lot on the way I do want. If I already have the movie on DVD, I don't re-buy it on Blu-ray. I spend that money on some other Blu-ray movie I want. There have been a few exceptions, but for the most part, that's my rule. And out of my entire DVD collection, I can only think of a few that I will pick up on Blu-ray as soon as they're available. So I have no plans to replace the majority of my DVDs. But I am still buying TV on DVD. Unless there's a Blu-ray available, I'll get the DVD. I refuse to buy Blu-rays unless they are on sale. Yes, the picture quality is good, but it is not twice the price good.

I am uprading some of my favorite films to Blu Ray; provided the reviews I read say that the image is better than previous DVDs.
New stuff gets purchased on Blu Ray, if it's a film that I know and like or expect to be of better quality on Blu Ray. Films where the quality of the transfer is secondary I will still buy on DVD.
Only TV Series I am currently considering to get on Blu Ray is the Termionator Chronicles... | | | Achim [諾亞信； Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
