On Amazon.com, one of the versions of Wall-E, is: Wall-E (Three-Disc Special Edition + Digital Copy).  What is the Digital Copy?  Are they selling some movies with an included "Backup Copy"?

Effectively yes. They do have DRM though. Some can be used with iTunes & other's can't. All that I've seen so far have a registration key to enter on a website & it has to be activated by a certain date.

Thanks for the quick response, Forget_the_Rest.  Do you (or does anyone) know if anyone has "cracked" that DRM, yet?  Seems as if someone is always finding a way to get by that copy protection, etc., stuff.

Also, just FYI.. this isn't an "Amazon" thing.  The new craze now with DVD's and some Blu-ray's is to include an addtional disc that contains the "Digital Copy".  This is apparently the new "Special Edition" type of releases since all the stuff that used to be SE releases is pretty much in most regular releases now.  It's meant to be used for iPod's and PSP's so you can watch the movie on a portable device, so don't expect the quality to be all that.

Never tried it myself since I have no use for that type of media.  Watch a movie on a 2-inch screen with some crappy ear buds?  No, thanks.

It is better than sitting in the doctors office for 45 minutes reading a 6 month old copy of Car & Driver though...

That's the best argument I've seen for these digital copies.

Better than what the magazine in my doctor office are, he always have a mountain of old woman magazine. Not the most interesting reading... at least for me since I don't care about make-up and fashion.
