The question;I got both Stargate Atlantis Season 4 & Stargate Contiuum right now and was wondering in what order do I have to watch them or when to switch. | | Posted: | | | | As Unicus has already pointed out watch either one will not interfer with the timeline of watching the other. Continuum is from the SG-1 universe, if you need to watch in view of a timeline, you should watch after Ark of Truth even though Continuum has nothing in relation to that story either. The only cross overs as far as the two are concerned is when you have characters from one or the other inter mixing with stories that appear in the other universe, ie when Daniel visited Atlantis when tring to find the answer to the Ori questions. When Colonel Sam Carter (Amanda Tapping) is assigned as leader of Atlantis, or when General O'Neill and Richard Wolsey are sent to negotiate with the surviving Ancients in "The Return" etc. So you can watch either or both without fear of ever harming a timeline. | | Posted: | | | | What is this "Two Universe" thing? Stargate Atlantis takes place in the same Universe as SG-1, or at least it did. Around the time SG-1 was ending in Season 10 I stopped watching SG:A religiously and only watch on occasion. I plan on getting the DVDs eventually (I have SG-1 Seasons 1-5 in the keeper-case box sets, UGH the rest are in slim-case box sets, ruins the continuity of the collection.  ) I don't know the Official story arc time lines, but from casual watching of SG:A,from its beginnings, it continued on from the SG-1 time-lines around season 8 or so of that first series. (I might be off by a season or two forgive me GATEHEADS!) It was by using alien technology acquired and then researched to figure out how the heck to use it, that they were able to Gate-Jump to Atlantis in the first place. Now the Original Movie and the SG-1 Universe are completely different cannons. As is the cartoon series I don't recall what that was called was different as well. I am glad that these extra movies "Continuum" and "Arc of Truth" are considered to be stand alone stories without major story arcs connecting them to SG:A or SG:1, even though Continuum seems to take place sometime during (or just before or just after) Season 4 as buidrhm? first pointed out. I'll just gate on through to the other side of the WormHole Extreme Universe now. | | | CaptKiirk42

| | Posted: | | | | No, Arc of Truth is the conclusion of the Ori story as being told up to the end of Season 10 in SG-1.
Stargate Atlantis although starting from Alien (Ancient Tech) found during searching for Artefacts needed to beat Gou'ld and then later Ori, lead to and expedition being sent to Atlantis to run as a seperate entity not to run beside and tie in with SG-1 hence the two seperate titles.
Continuum is the only one that can really be classed as a stand alone, as it's story, although about the demise of the last system lord Ba'al is not tied into or the conclusion of any SG-1 or Atlantis story line.

I don't want to spoil anything, but Sam isn't there as part of SG-1. The former SG-1 members are there for a ceremony, not as a team, when things happen.
