Application to read Disc ID? "Burst Cutting Area" (BCA) |

| | Posted: | | | | I see data in the "Disc ID" field under the "Discs" profile tab, and I'd like to be able to run some app that would pick that data up for me off of my discs.
Is the data in this field read from the BCA?
Is the Disc ID the same thing as the disc serial number?
How common is it for DVD-ROM titles for publisher to laser etch a unique serial number on each disc?
I know this can be done in conjunction with some kinds of copy protection, like CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media), but I don't know if this data is used in CSS/RPC or other protection schemes I've heard more about. |

don't forget forum rules: Discussion promoting DVD or CD piracy and i'm not implying you do. I'm just trying to figure out how to post / upload a new profile with that information in it. There are lots of profiles out there which lack this information, so I guess I'm not the only person needing a hand at figuring this out. |

The chapter insert is the same for both. The picture that is the disc art is the same for both, but one is a straight reverse of the other. The cover art is different.
