I don't believe you will find a conservative that LOVES John McCain. Certainly not this one. John was not my first or second choice for the candidacy, BUT he is far preferable to the alternative.

Same as Skip. McCain wasn't even on my short list. But considering what "the other side" has to offer, I'd rather be safe than very sorry.

Conservatives don't LOVE McCaun because unlike Obama he's a moderate and has taken issue with his own party too many times. What I like about him is his integrity, honesty, and fighting wasteful spending.

If there's one thing that can be said about Mr. McCain, he's always struck me as an honest man. Although I disagree on some of his views, I'd rather deal with the devil I know rather than with the one I don't .

It seems to me that the choice for him is based on personal integrity rather than on where he stands for. This strikes me as little bit odd if I may say so.

You have to remember the Americans don't really have much choice when it comes to elections. They can't really vote based on what a person stands for because they only have two choices! If neither of those two people have policies you agree with, you're pretty much screwed!

And the primary process insures that those choices are dicated by the most rabid of the party base so it really minimizes the chance that either cantidate will represent the middle ground that most Americans want.  All we can do is tip the see-saw back and forth between the two platforms.

Two? I thought they had three. If I'm not mistaken there are also indepedents who can be voted on.

Is McCain even considered conservative? As several others have said, I'm not sure if conservatives actually care much for McCain. And, honestly, I think he was one of the most moderate GOP nominees.

Yes, but that is pretty much as useful as voting for "Superman" in a Dutch election.
