PC problem I had that started a couple of weeks ago. If you see these symptoms, take heed.

My Cyberlink screen started to juggle a bit after a few hours while building cast and crew list for some profiles. I would terminate it and restart it and it would be okay.

Eventually it got worse little by little, if I got too many programs going at the same time.
It came with pretty goof se of tests. I ran all the tests, but I could find no errors, PC, memory or discs.

Then finally it would not boot up unless I waited a random interval between selecting start mode.

Then I remembered as part of the recovery discs I made when I bought the PC was a PC Doctor hardware test boot disc. It ran through all PC, memory and disc tests no errors, but finally got an error in the video test, which took several minutes and got a video memory error, it was dropping a byte in a few locations.

I opened up the box and discovered video on this model shares its video memory with the main memory.

When I bought the PC they had a sale on memory boards the thing used, so bought an extra set, but never bothered put them in, since PC monitor showed I seldom needed it.

So I swapped them and I was back in business.
We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.

You'll find shared memory in a lot of the white box units like Compaq.  Most of them will allow you to turn off the video side and plug in a PCI card for video, but sometimes that can actually slow things down even though the card has dedicated memory, because it still has to query the main memory controller before doing anything.
