For a while now I've been able to use my PC DVD drive as my DVD player for my home theater.  I have a video card that allows me to have 2 monitors, one is a regular computer flat screen monitor and one is my HDTV that is plugged into my PC using an HDMI to DVI cable.  I have the sound coming out of my digital optical out into my audio/video receiver which provides me with awesome 5.1 surround when available.

That's my basic setup.  I've been able to do this without a problem until this one DVD and it's bugging the heck out of me.  The DVD is "1408: Widescreen Edition" and what happens when I play this DVD is that it refuses to play the digital sound when I move PowerDVD to my HDTV.  It will play the audio just fine on my regular monitor but nothing on my TV.  In order to get the sound to play I have to disable the digital sound and revert to the lesser quality analog which is only stereo.  I've tried to do several things including moving the player to the TV before starting the DVD.  I've also downloaded a program called DVD Region Free which defeats the copyprotection and other things on DVDs and ran this while trying to play with no luck still.

So, does anyone else use this method to view DVDs?  If so, have you had similar issues?  Anyone have any ideas on what the deal is or might be?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated but it's not like it's life or death.  It's one in over 400 that I've played this way that won't comply.  It would be nice to get the best sound out of it I can though.

Well I downloaded and installed the only patch I could find from Cyberlink.....and it worked!  Thanks for the tip.  Now I can get that heck back in me again.
