I'm currently using IGN to catalog my video game collection but it isn't anywhere near as detailed and nice as DVD Proflier is for DVDs and Blu Ray. Something like "Video Game Profiler" would be nice hehe but anyways, if anyone knows of a program similiar to this but for video games please post, or with any suggestions related to this topic, thanks. |

But, he would have to be convinced there would be a "market" for it, something he would "not lose money" doing. I use GameSpot and IGN to keep track of mine (as well as a spreadsheet used mostly to keep track of what I have/want but few details), but those sites are slow, slow, slow.  GameSpot.com has 46,000+ owners of Gears of War (Xbox360), 71K+ owners of Halo 2 (Xbox), 75K+ for GTA: San Andreas (PS2+Xbox), 25K+ for Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) and 12K+ for Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3). These are games for so-called "hard-core" gamers (I didn't count sports games like Madden, many of these "gamers" don't play anything else). Clearly, there is a sizable group of folks who use their PCs to keep track of their games...and GameSpot is only one such site. HEY KEN! I'LL HAPPILY  SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU EVER MAKE A VGPro!! I use Gamespot the most and IGN second, but i dont like that you cant collect special editions of games (some on ign but often have no rating). And they give limited options at best. Ive looked into the Collectorz but its overpriced for what it is and they get faulty information from Amazon which i do not like. |

It is not simply a question if he will make money or not on Game Profiler (or whatever it will be called). Any time he spend on a Game Profiler is time not spend on DVD Profiler (both development time and screening time). So while a Game Profiler could certainly gain a new market, it could also cost DVD Profiler it's market position. | | | Regards

| | Posted: | | | | As much as I would love to see GameProfiler in the future, I agree with Imoelleb that it might not be the best thing for DVDprofiler if it wasn't done correctly. I would gladdly pay for a program of the same calibur as DVDprofiler for games though and I'm sure many others would do the same, so I'm sure he could find someone he could pay to do the work...just a thought.  Meanwhile I have tried both Gamespot and IGN...and didn't really like either. I've decided to use DVDprofiler locally and put all my games under the "Ordered" Collumn so as to keep my DVDs and Games seperate. But you could always create a whole new database to do this. I just never use "Ordered" so it's more convenient for me this way. I also use tags for each system (PS3, 360, Wii, PSP, PS2, etc...) so that I can sort them by system with a few clicks. Sucks that everything has to be manually entered in though. Would be nice to have an online database to feed off of. Makes adding a collection quite the chore. Anyway, hope this helps.
