Due to 12 NO votes, and declined update I did a little reasearch on that title. The no votes was reagrding removal of uncredited cast that I did, since the notes on this title states only "New Contribution, dated March 14, 2007 12:37 AM and was accepted, Profile Contribution Approved 2007-03-13 19:38:28 If you look at those date, the approval came one month and one day before the contribution was made.

My NO votes said that the uncredited cast was documented in the Intervocative version, which I , sorry to say, don't believe. The reason for that is I believe a high percent of the contributions in Intervocative was direct copies of IMDB. I still find profiles in the new database that has the following credits: John Doe - Man in underwear scratching his butt (Uncre  ...and there's no more space for letters. I also believe that profiles copied from the old base got accepted before they (screeners) did a thorough search of documentation, and created the rule that it should be documented.

I can't proove that the uncredited cast isn't there, how should I do that? I.E. Adam Clarke ...  Kid In Audience (uncredited) How should I proove that he's not there? By stating, I don't know what he looks like, so he's not there?

Anyway, here's my little reasearch of the uncredited cast:

In IMDB there are two uncredited castmembers:
Jay Levey ...  Gandhi (uncredited)
Herbert Glucksman ...  Gorbachev (uncredited)

Jay Levey is now entered in the credits where he belong, but Herbert Glucksman still is listed uncredited in IMDB and in the actual profile. However, Herbert IS credited in the credits @96:07, listed as ...with Herbert Glucksman as Gorbachev. So why is he still listed as uncredited in the profile if there was documentation of him? How did the contributer overlook this if he/her did actualy use the end credits from the movie, and he's also listed uncredited at IMDB?

I will update the changes one more time, and link to this tread in the notes of it.

And you are right: http://www.intervocative.com/Forums.aspx?task=contributionnotes&type=DVD&ProfileUPC=2761687665
As you see, you only have to drop the last digit of the UPC and voila, you see the old contribution notes. And lo and behold, there isn't an iota of documentation for the uncrediteds.

Good question.

I just have to ask... Why is it so important to you to remove the uncredited cast? Regardless of whatever rules there were when they were accepted, they WERE accepted, and have never been argued against since. And as you said yourself; your first contribution was declined, so the admins obviously still accept their being there.

Personally I really don't care one way or another, but I'd like to know your reasons for making such a big fuss out of such a small matter. And the current rules still require you to provide documentation for your changes, so where do you want to get that?

It has to do with making sure the data in the database is accurate.  There are several users that go through the profiles and do audits to make sure everything there is correct and belongs.  During the switch from Intervocative to Invelos there are a large dump of what people had to bring the new database up to speed.  Not all the data was corect or accurate.

It may not have been argued because he may be the first to spot it.

Because it's not accurate, as schultzy said. Also because there's no documentation of the uncredited cast, and after my research, one in the existing database is listed as uncredited, Herbert Glucksman, who also are listed as uncredited in IMDB, but I saw the actual credit of him in the credits @ 96:07, which make me believe the previous contributor(s) haven't used the actual movie credits. I like the database to be accurate, and what was contributed in the old base, which also didn't require documentation, shouldn't be brought into a new database without documentation.

Yet again, quoting schultzy "It may not have been argued because he may be the first to spot it." Also, I did further "investigation" and as mentioned further up, there's still one uncredited castmember in the base, which is CREDITED in the movie.. So why is he uncredited when he's in the actual credits?

I believe I provided enough documentation for the screeners, we just have to see in a few days.

What I do on the rare occasions I remove uncredited cast, is do a quick search to see if any sources other than IMDB list them as being in the film.
If I find no other sources, I say so in my notes and remove them, if I find a source I'll list that too, to confirm an uncredited entry.

That mistake is understandable: Mr. Glucksman is not credited as part of the regular cast list, but found later on in the credits. In fact, I know of several users that would use that line of reasoning to knowingly enter him as (uncredited). The fact is that you've done nothing to show that these people don't belong here, so I honestly don't understand the need to eliminate them.
