Went and saw Frost/Nixon last night with Stacy Keach as Nixon and I must say, "What a perfomance!" I started to forget that I was watching a play and thought I was watching the real thing, plus it helped that I was in the second row. Since this play is on tour and if it comes to your town be sure to go and see it. I haven't see the movie yet, since they refuse to show it here, but can't wait to see it on DVD.

Where is "here" and who is "they" who refuse to show it?

PS:  I can't picture Stacy Keach as Nixon.

They probably don't want to run the film concurrently with the the play perhaps?

Sorry, it's playing here in Cleveland at Playhouse Square until this Sunday, it was a two week engagement. As for Stacy Keach going in all I could think of him in was Titus as Christopher Titus' dad, but once he got on stage that all went away. He wasn't impersonating Nixon, but he had the mannerisms and the look down pat.

As for the movie, for some reason none of the theaters in this area are showing the movie. My brother and I really wanted to see that, but we heard about the play on the radio and decided to go to that instead and I'm glad we did.

I loved Stacy Keach in that role. It's like he was made for it . Very funny show...I was  when it got the axe.

I just checked to see what movies I would like to go see on Friday, since I have the day off and what do you know. Frost/Nixon has come to town. It looks like the play might have been the reason for the delay.

Me too. I think the people at FOX didn't understand the show and wanted it gone.

The film has been in limited release since December 5th.  It is scheduled to be released 'everywhere' on the 23rd.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Why didn't we think of that?  Nixon-like paranoia perhaps?

Kinda have doubts Langella will an Oscar though, since the Academy could say, "Well he did win a Tony already for the part." But who knows, right?
