| | Posted: | | | | Anybody know any good video editing programs? I'm looking for something that let you really play with the videos, add effects, pictures, music and other fun stuff. I downloaded 2 trials. Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, was first greeted with a demand to register online, eventhough it was just a trial. Then realised it had zero support for video files (i tryed many avi video files, it didnt recognize any of them  ) The second is Magix Movie Edit Pro, but havent yet tryed it. |

A new release is always buggy as hell.
My last version - 10 (which I haven't updated for a while) took about 4-5 months of patches before it was usable. | | | | Paul |

a quick google search for "best video editing software" also say that PowerDirector is nr 1 on multiple test and reviews.
Im not doing anything too hard core with my editing but, it has a lot of options if you want to do all kinds of stuff.
I've impressed by it. |

The second is Magix Movie Edit Pro, but havent yet tryed it. Ulead's Video Studio 11.5 (or the newer X2 version of it) is excellent. Tons of tools for editing video and sound in a bunch of formats (including Blu Ray), and excellent tools for creating DVDs directly, or as ISO files for burning later with another program like DVD Decrypter or Nero. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Note: One very important tool let's you vary the bit rate to alter the size of the content to fit the available space on a DVD. You can get 3 hours worth of video onto a 4.7G blank disk with no trouble at all, without any playback problems or compression artifacting. That is worth the price of admission all by itself if you do a lot of DVD creation. | | | John
