| | Posted: | | | | Hey everyone! Just wondering how many out there would like to see the old Universal Studio monster movies in color? Don't get me wrong i LOVE them the way they are but i would love to see them in color and compare to some of the "horror" movies of today. My 2 year old son already loves the classic monsters(i'm so proud) but he would rather carry the dvd cases around with him than watch the movies. I thought if they were in color they would hold his interest better. So what do you all think? Do you see the monsters in color in the future?(i have purchased some of the 3 stooges in color and they SUCK compared to the old B&W)  |

I have seen colorized versions of It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34 st. and they weren't half bad. Granted i had never seen the B&W. I have also seen colorized 3 stooges and they suck, seeing how i grew up watching the B&W. On a side note is there any difference between the 75th anniversry editions of Dracula, Frankenstein, and Mummy compared to the legacy editions?  |

Universal won't be colorizing their monster movies anytime soon. If they didn't do it during the VHS craze, it ain't gonna happen. I think you are probably right, but there wasn't a HD format during the VHS craze. I'm guessing a Blu-ray copy of Frankenstein won't look all that great compared to the newer versions but it's all about making money, and what better way for Universal to market a blu-ray than to throw together a crappy color version of the movie to go with all the exact same features on previous dvd's.(i know i'll probably buy any blu-ray copy of the monster films) Regarding the different versions i'll check out those forums, however i just thought i would mention in THIS forum first since these are the only forums i usually read. I know how to google as well!  |
