When actors are credited under the same role, for example.
Solider:
and then follows a group of names credited as soldier.

Which gives you 2 options, either going with Soldier #1 and so on or just credit them all as soldier.
(actor name) as Soldier
(actor name) as Soldier
(actor name) as Soldier

(actor name) as Soldier #1
(actor name) as Soldier #2
(actor name) as Soldier #3

Seeing as they both occur, I assume there is no rule on this. Couldnt find anything on the contribution page at least.
Which is the preferred option?
Should there be a rule?

Credit exactly as shown on-screen.

That means no #'s

Sodiers plural equals Soldier singular.

then I know a lot of profiles that are incorrectly credited.
Need to sit down and sort through a bunch them...
I blame IMDb

as far as I've seen the most common one in the credits are without the #'s.
kind of hard for the screeners to check if its correct though.

This is the option I would pick.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

That would be the correct way to do it. Some film credits do list numbers after roles such as that, but we don't add them unless they're actually shown that way in the actual credits.
