I just received a phone call. It was another of those "we'll-reduce-your-credit-card-debt-and-lower-your-interest-rate" sales scams.

The beauty of this one is that at the opening of their pitch they tell you that this is a "government program" that "is part of the government stimulus just passed by congress".

Folks, let me make this as clear as I can. The stimulus package that was just signed into law does NOT include any credit card debt reductions for consumers.

If you get one of these calls, hang up and report the call. It is a scam!

I usually tell them I'm not interested because I just won the UK and African lotteries, so I'm be paying off everything as soon as my "transfer fee" check clears and the money shows up in my account.
That gets em worse than anything, as they get mad you won't fall for their scam while telling them you fell for someone elses!
