UPC# 796019804141  Since the 2 movies are on the same side of the disc, do I just use dividers to separate the cast/crew credits, or do I have to create child profiles for each movie?  I ask because I won't be able to use the disc ID for both movies.  It'll tell me that that disc ID is used for another movie.  Thanks for any help.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Yup, that's exactly how you do it, with the dividers to separate the cast lists.  I have a similar disc (074645440293) and that's how it's set up.

Danae is correct.  One profile, two movies with dividers.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I would create  child profiles.

Rules say :"The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film. The main examples are:

    * Sets where each film is packaged individually, and held together in a package of some kind.
    * Sets where each film is on a separate disc, but not individually packaged. This includes gatefold Digipaks and 2-Disc sets in normal DVD cases.
    * Sets containing 2 films, one on each side of Dual-Sided DVD."

Main examples means that other less common examples can be considered. There is not much difference between 2 films on each side of a dual sided DVD, and two films on the same side of a double layered disc.

Any way, rules say "any release that includes more than one film". So it is a boxset, and for boxsets, rules say "child profiles".  Rules do not mention an exception for this case.

You can't create child profiles, surfeur. You have ONE SINGLE DISC ID, unless you create Manual profiles.

He isn't talking about a DUAL-SIDED DISC, He is talking about a SINGLE-SIDED Disc that has TWO count them, TWO movies on it.

We spelled it out quite clearly in the Rules, surfeur and you do NOT see Single_sided Multi-Feature discs listed...do you. That was DELIBERATE.

That would be ideal Yves, but how do you create two separate child profiles with two identical UPCs or Disc IDs? It's just not possible.

I know that. But rules are very clear:

"The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film"

So it is a boxset, so we have to make child profiles.

Two solutions :
- use manual ID and keep local
- ask a change of rules, and wait until Ken accept it.

Every other solution is violation of rules...

Another generic solution for this type of problem is to decide that rules become a guide and exceptions may be accepted when common sense dictates...

If the fact that we are not allowed to contribute such disc is deliberate, fine. But just don't say to users they may use dividers. Rules do not allow that for boxsets.

Yve:

Martin has it right, And as I told you the failure to include Single Sided Multi-Feature Discs was absolutely deliberate, the problem was recognized and there is not a solution for it to date. It's that simple. The broad definition that you are trying to apply is further refined in the rules Stop taking things out of context to create your bizarre interpretations, which are merely designed and intended to create confusion and chaos.

I say exactly the same thing : no solution, no contribution. I agree that's simple.

No there is a solution, not what you are trying to do, Cass hit it right square on the head. It is the only way. I lovve the way you take things out of context to shape your own circular logic, with your objective.

You are flat wrong, Yves. I understand your silly little game, my friend, It's not positive for the Community nor does it reflect well upon you.

Or just contribute a profile with dividers, like everybody else said.

Surfeur couldn't do that.

That's only another violation of rules, as we often see for crew roles...

But. it is not and that is what you refuse to see, Yves.

Read what I am saying, Yves. You are trying to create yor interpretation based on only one sentence in the Rule, completely out of context. You are completely ignoring the remainder of the Rule which further defines what is meant. And further it was not an accidental over sight, it was very deliberatefor precisely the reasons which have been delineated.

The answer is dividers, for all the reasons enumerated here.  I've contributed tons of them.  I can't speak for what our non-region 1 friends choose to do.
