DAMM & SØN AS" - my guess is that that is the firm that owns Egmont or Nordisk film.. any input from employees at OSLO børs? Sometimes different distributors will have different cuts of films, so knowing the theatrical distributor of the print used for a particular DVD can be useful - especially for genre releases that can exist in many versions. So I think if a theatrical distributor is mentioned in the credits on the DVD I think it's useful to add them to the profile. |

| | Posted: | | | | They are registered with two different org. numbers; Nordisk Film AS and Nordisk Film Distribusjon AS. So they are not the same company. But Nordisk filmdistribusjon might be just a common name for Nordisk Film, as I can't see it registered in Brønnøysundregistrene at least.
Nordisk Film seems to be operating under Egmont, but I don't know what this means.
But this is DVD Profiler, not Film Profiler, so the end-credits isn't that reliable for this info. So I would go with the cover, and not the end-credits. | | | | Last edited: by Gemini76 |

| | Posted: | | | | Just rememered a tool I could use... snurrfilm.no When sorted for Nordisk Filmdistribusjon I only get Film (KINO) refs. and when Nordisk Film is entered I only get DVD refs. So the Nordisk Filmdistrubusjon is not to be entered in DVD Profiler I presume. (Everytime I put the studios in the profiler I get anxious, some time I am shure only to get anxious again... )  | | | | We are all at the same age, only at different time... |

| | Posted: | | | | I just did a profile, and I found a distributing credit in the end-credits. This was a FILM distributor for cinemas and stuff, and not for the DVD.
You should be pretty safe if you start the DVD and see what studio it shows first, before the main menu, this is the Media Company. After the main menu you'll get the Studios, like in "Walt Disney Pictures presents", in assosiations with.... These are studios. I'm not sure about the production which often will be listed after the studios, are studios, so I normally don't list them. | | | | Last edited: by Gemini76 |
