Just recived my James Bond collection box three and four...

And the coverart completely changes for the box four...
I had seen this on the web but thougt that the spine would be alike, but NOT.

Anyone know of the reason and if the next box in the series would continue in the line that box four introduced?  Or is the box with the quantum not in the series at all, it doesn't say anything about volume four on the cover anywhere

Vol 3
Vol 4

oleops,

I'm not sure that the James Bond set you refer to is considered Volume 4 of the series at least here in the US. I have seen it (with that different packaging) in an advertisement as as Best Buy "exclusive" release and the two older films included in it - Man with the Golden Gun and License to Kill are not available at any other retailer to my knowledge.

I think it is just a special release with Quantum of Solace as you suggest. I'm guessing there may be another set later that includes these films that is numbered.

Hope this helps,

Brian

Yes it starts to sink in...  Then I would have just bought the quantum for now...
All Norwegian retailers call it the volume four.
Then when the real volume four come out I have to buy that also ofcourse..

Well I preordered the James Bond Blu-ray set "volume four" and got it for 229 NOK  about US$ 36.5
and that is a fair prize in Norway...

my online retailer sells the two films (The Man With the Golden Gun & Licence to Kill) Blu-ray seperate from the box even thou it says on the box as you say exclusive releases...

Maybe they have splitted it up themselves as I can't find it at my other favorite online stores, the legality of this is maybe of question,  they are already in trouble for sending out the releases too early.

oleops,

I went to Besy Buy today and bought the Quantum of Solace set with the different packaging and it was three individually wrapped movies (QoS, Man with the Golden Gun, and License to Kill) in HD slim cases within a slip cover. I also bought Volume 3 discs (They came in a little mini-book inside a slip cover).

I just checked on DVD Empire and the individual releases of Man with the Golden Gun and License to Kill are listed as pre-orders for a May 12th, 2009 release - no other Bonds are currently listed for that date but I'd guess the real volume 4 is coming out then with those 2 films and a third which has not yet been announced.

They definitely screwed people over that were collecting the numbered sets by offering QoS and the other two as an exclusive special set - at least at retail you can see that the "exclusive" release is packaged differenly and doesn't say Volume 4 anywhere on the actual packaging.
