Digital Bits (and many others) reporting today that Fox made an error with the newly released Slumdog Millionaire single edition DVD:

First up today, it looks like there was a mix-up at the replication plant, and a number of people have inadvertently purchased barebones "rental only" versions of Fox's Slumdog Millionaire on DVD - a title that's supposed to include deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes featurette. If you've been affected by this, you can call Fox's hotline number for this (1-888-223-4FOX) to arrange for a replacement disc. You can read more on this here at Content Agenda.

I just called the hotline and requested my replacement disc. Just a few questions about the disc, the DVD case and the UPC. No estimate on speed of the replacement disc arriving.

Fox has added a website to process ordering replacement discs at http://slumdogdvd.orderassistance.com/.

After I entered my info, it said a new disc would ship in two or three days.

Just got it today but have not opened it yet. Came with a book that had the script. Will have to wait till get home to see if the extras are there or not.

Edit: Yep sure enough all I have are trailers.

This whole thing reminds me of what MCA Universal tried to do about 10 years ago.,, and that was ship /sell  Full frame DVD movies separate from their widescreen counterpart titles for $5.00 less., than the letterbox titles., which was of course $5.00  more.

I think it lasted for one month..,,  .

When are these studios going to stop harassing their customers with harebrain schemes ??

I had the replacement disc show up today. I entered the data on the website on the 1st and got the disc two day later!

Good job Fox on a very fast fix for their error!

Making the error in the first place.

I haven't seen mine yet. I wonder if there's someone I can call.

EDIT: I called the hotline and found that the person that took my info was a temp and hadn't entered my information. So no disc had been sent. Got it straightened out now and hope to see it soon.

So if anyone else is missing their disc and did call, call again. 1-888-223-4369

Ok, I sent my disc in nearly a month ago and still haven't seen my replacement disc. Called the number, got the standard spiel that due to the large volume, replacement mailers were very far behind. That would be acceptable except that now I'm sans disc and really jonesing to watch the movie with my wife, as I've done nothing but brag about how much I liked it.

Crap.

They send you the DVD disc with the case or just the DVD Disc?

I’ve sent the whole DVD, disc and case in the mail.

I'm still waiting!!!!!
