I have watched the entire Star Trek series and came upon somthing I didn't like in the last series Enterprise season 4 and was wondering if someone could explain why.

It has some spoiler in the question so I used the spoiler feature:

Spoiler:  (Select to view)
It is about trip's death in the last seasons end, it looks to me as if the actor was going to quit the series and he would be written out and they desided to kill him of in a fashionable way.
But then the whole series got shut down so the episode was not to be aired, and then they desided to send it anyway and it came out in a extra episode as the crew from the next generation looked back at the event that lead to his death.

I didn't like this ending as they have killed his sister in the weaponsfire against earth, and then later they kill his daughter and not enough they have killed his other world counterparts children and then him self...  they have wiped out his entire family tree, and I cant understand why this was neccesary.

Any inside infromation on this?

Don't misunderstand me, I have nothing against death of actors in leading roles, this makes it more realistic and can make a point worth noticing but this went to far by me, as I said his bloodline is gone forever

I can't add any light to the situation but here's my opinion, using spoiler tags relating to TNG events -

Spoiler:  (Select to view)
I don't see this as being any different to Picard's family. His brother & nephew were killed off in Generations so J-L is the last of his bloodline. He has no family of his own & he knows that he's not likely to have one. So when he goes, that's the end of the Picard family as well.

It's also the same with Kirk. His son being killed in The Search for Spock & then him dying in Generations.

I'm sure that it could easily apply to other characters as well.

I see your point and I didn't recon all this, I must have soften lately...  the difference is that this episode didn't need to be aired, I looked at the entire Enterprise in a short time and it all happened one by one..

Looking forward to the new film now, hope it is great.

In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
