there is a questionable contribution submitted and approved but Im not quite sure why, is this a mistake and if so how can we fix this?

Specifically the NR details and some if not all the cast dividers, I could see dividers for puppeteers and voice actors but the rest should go.

The NR details are printed right under the 'Unrated' box on the back of the case.  While I don't like it, it is allowed.  As far as the cast dividers, I agree with you.  Those are group roles, not a divided cast list.

Where does it state in the rules to list NR details?

"Use the Rating shown on the DVD cover. When there is no rating, or an unrated version of the film on the disc, use the NR rating"

Right under the part you quoted:

"Enter rating details as shown, excluding the rating itself and trailing period."

There is no exception for unrated DVDs.  If the rating detail is there, which it is in this case, it is to be entered as shown.

Well, this is situational...let me see if I can explain what I mean...

Sometimes, an unrated DVD/Blu-ray will contain two versions of the film...the rated and the unrated.  Sometimes, these will have the rating for the rated version, and the rating details, printed on the case.  In those cases, because the profile is for the unrated version, the rating detail should be left blank as the details are for the rated version.

In cases where there is only the unrated version or, as in this case, both ratings are printed on the case AND rating details are included, those details should be entered.

Does that explain it or cunfuse it even more?

And you're not alone.  This has popped up a few times.  We really need a FAQ.

May be a tad off topic, but it may also be nice to have an ongoing post (maybe a sticky in the Contribution Rules Forum?), where it has parts of the rules that have created a lot of conflict on these forums. Where a little more clarity in one way or another is necessary.

In this area for instance, it would be nice if the rules spelled this issue out a bit more clearly. Is it ok to submit rating details on a NR title if they are on the back cover or not? I can certainly see both sides of the argument and personally don't care either way, but a clarity in areas such as these would help a lot, esspecially to those users that don't frequent the forums often.
