| Posted: | | | | Because of this thread - HEREand this message left on a submission that was 17 yes votes to his 1 no vote - "Stop interpreting, to get YOUR skin, you screwed up the background lighting of the SUNSET, also too soft and loses detail" I have decided these are the final straws and I will no longer contribute to DVDProfiler. I have been actively trying to help the database for some years, specifically with scans and region 2 profiles, but because of one user here I will now stop. Maurice/Skip/Dr Pavlov - I note for many months you only ever vote on one of my many contributions if it is to cast a no vote with some sarcastic or insulting comment. You never vote yes, even when I know you have many of the titles. Ken/Gerri - you are welcome to check this. In addition, I believe you are destroying the integrity and enjoyment of many users who approach DVDProfiler as an addition to their hobby. By your behaviour, antics, games, rudeness and racial/nationalistic ignorance in the forums, you have upset or angered many users. It is clear that Ken/Gerri are not willing to address this, and have watched many users disappear from the program because of you. So I will make the decision to remove myself, and my contributions, solely because of you. Well done. To everyone else, thank-you for your support and hope you continue to enjoy the program. Rich. | Posted: | | | | It's always sad to see people leaving or stopping to contribute, especially for reasons like this. |

I really hope you will reconsider your decision, and come back here, as I did in the past. Leaving is just a victory for bullys, and it is sad that Ken and Gerry prefer see useful users quit than ban the main responsible of most hateful threads of those forums. Thanks very much for all your work. Region 2 really needs people like you. | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Too bad to see people go because of sort of reasons. I rather have scans that would look good, then a scan that is an exact copy of the original. | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. |

| Posted: | | | | Sad to see you go , you were a great contributor, maybe reconsider it. I am also contributing alot, and if i get an evil remark, which happens very rearely, I just ignore it, I do not let a few people spoil the fun I have here. Come back greetings Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks guys, just to be clear I am not drumming up support or looking for attention, I just wanted to clearly state why I have decided to stop contributing as opposed to just disappearing.
When i believe a situation is wrong, there comes a time you have to say enough is enough. I am happy to disagree and debate with anyone, and am willing to always hear alternative viewpoints. The user Unicus springs to mind, I don't always agree with him, but I respect how he delivers an argument without personal insults and with thoughtful comments.
The situation regarding one user here is well documented, and I won't labour the point.
I genuinely hope everyone continues to enjoy the program and gets involved in the contribution process. For me though when it comes to seeing contributions I have made with a genuine desire to help the community database, under attack in the forum, receiving sarcastic and rude comments by one users voting, then I will stop giving up my time to help others.
Peace - Out | | | |

| Posted: | | | | I stopped 98% of my Contributions LONG AGo due to the behavior and attitudes of many of the users in this very thread. Well done ALL.
Richie I stand by that comment by the way. You were absolutely creating an interpretation, a very LOUSY one, that drained the color from other parts of the Cover just so you could create your interpretation of the skin tones, as noted the back image was not at all sharp, and it gave up a lot of detail and drained the color from the images there as well. Your skintones were lovely, but they were NOT accurate.

| Posted: | | | | He already said he was leaving, so there should be no concern about getting any more "lousy" images. |

| Posted: | | | | So 1 user voting no for whatever reason is more important to you than 17 voting yes? Errr okay.. Maybe people should stop taking no votes personal instead. This is not a popularity contest, nor is it a competition for the most number of accepted contributions. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Sad to see you go, Richie. Thanks for your contributions to the database and your input on these forums. I hope you will continue to enjoy both this programme and your collection, albeit in a different way. I wish you the very best. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | For those who were late to the party, the forum thread to which Richie was referring in his initial post has apparently been removed from the forum, leaving the thread reference pointing to an unrelated thread.
Pity it didn't happen before I read it. Real pity. | | | -fred |

This is not a popularity contest, nor is it a competition for the most number of accepted contributions. This is sort of what I thought, too, Patsa. I guess I react as badly to criticism ans anyone -- whether that criticism is valid or not (of course in MY mind it generally ISN'T valid ). But it seems to me to be cutting off ones' nose to spite his face when he quits contributing because of the negativity of one other user. If 17 people voted YES on a contribution, why get all that upset by one who votes NO? Even if that no vote included negative, rude and insulting comments, it shouldn't be worth more than the 17 yes votes. I could understand if there were 17 people voting NO and being insulting with it. That would be a clear indication that people didn't want the contribution. I must not have many of the titles that Richie contributes, because I don't recall seeing that many images lately. But if I remember correctly the contributions I have seen from Richie, some I liked and some I didn't. That's about par for the course for me and images -- some I like and some I don't. But that's just me. There are some contributors whose images I never care for, but Richie isn't one of them -- so I hope he'll reconsider his decision to stop contributing. As I said, I don't like being insulted either, and I know it's hard to ignore it when it happens. But when I think I have something valid to contribute (and I think Richie clearly does, regardless of Skip's opinions to the contratry) I would "consider the source" and go ahead and make the contribution. It's not like everyone hates his work. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges.
