| | Posted: | | | | I recently performed a full inventory on my collection and found several there were missing or even had an incorrect UPC and I'm one to try to enter them into the database the same day I purchase.
What I did was to create a "Validated" tag and then press ALT-F10 to bring up the Search By UPC dialog, scan in the UPC using the CueCat (or just typed in if extra digits exists) - then flagged the matched profile by hitting the space bar. Rinse-n-Repeat.
After I did a dozen or so, I would edit via "Collection > Flagged > Edit Tags" and then set the Validated tag. Then I would clear all the flags and continue on. |

It's the software I used 9 years ago when I first got a CueCat. I haven't used it since then, but if my memory serves me right, CatNip lets you set key strokes to be entered after you've scanned a code. [...] Autohotkey may help there. Not sure if it could wait for a scan to tell it to enter the string but I wouldn't be surprised if it could, it's very versatile. I've not had much use for it lately, what with Mediadogg's bulkedit plugin and all. |
