As the man himself used to say, "you are correct, sir."

"ABC Entertainment News

LOS ANGELES -- The man who for years was the perfect straight man to "Tonight Show" host Johnny Carson has died. Ed McMahon may be best known for being Carson's sidekick. For 30 years Ed McMahon starred as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show" His booming laugh earned him the nickname" the human laugh-track." His easy going nature made him the perfect set up man for Carson. McMahon served two tours as a marine fighter pilot and he met Carson on the show "Who Do You Trust?" The rest, as they say, is history.

McMahon used his celebrity to pitch products on TV like publishers sweepstakes and to host his own talent shows like "The Next Big Star". But the good times didn't always extend to his personal life. There were three marriages and health problems, including a broken neck and financial woes. In later years he faced foreclosure on his mansion despite a net worth once valued at $200-million. Still he was always ready with a smile."

Prayers for his family and loved ones.

Funny I Just watched The King of Comedy two days ago with little ol'  Ed Herlihy  who of course played Ed McMahon., .  Scorsese wanted Johnny Carson to play the part of Jerry Lewis's  Carson part, but Johnny turned it down., Scorsese then went thru the rat pack members starting with Frank Sinatra., all turned him down as well., but after Dean Martin.,, Scorsese then went to  Jerry Lewis, who told Scorcese.,' You are hiring me as an actor., as you know I have always been totally in control of my movies., but in this case I'll keep my mouth shut ,unless  talked to." , and, he was as sources indicate a perfect gentlemen thru production.
Ed Herlihy who played Ed McMahon was on the button as Jerry Langford's  side kick., and apparently his only role..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
