| | Posted: | | | | I'll just add that for a while the digital copy SE's had more to offer. They had the making-of's and deleted scenes along with the d.c. Now I'm seeing new releases where the 2 disc set offers only the d.c. as extra, but still costs $5-7 more.
Is anyone really paying that for the d.c.? I bought a couple d.c. SE's like Alien vs Predator 2, but only to get all the extra features. I could care less about dcs and certainly wouldn't pay extra for one, not even if that version has better cover art. |

| | Posted: | | | | I think that the idea is good in theory but the way that it's been executed isn't as good.
1) The vast majority that I've seen only work on Windows machines so that cuts out a fair percentage of people who choose to use an alternative OS.
2) DRM. I've yet to meet anyone who hasn't said something bad about DRM.
3) Most if not all of them say that they may not be available after a certain date. So if you have a problem with your chosen medium for watching on you could end up not being able to get it back again.
4) Some restrict usage to specific countries. Although I own the title, I can't use the DC version of it because I live in country X instead of country Y. |

I put all my digital copies on a half terabyte USB powered hard drive and when I travel I have Juno, the Dark Knight, Wall-E, the 12th season of South Park & many other to view that is easier on my laptop battery than the DVD drive. It works well to keep youth soccer teams occupied between tournament games and to settle down in a strange motel room. I don't feel that I pay any more for them... the ones I own seem to be the same price as BD & DVDs without them, so I get 'em cheap, they save energy, and are highly portable. I never saw the advantage in complaining about a gift you don't use. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
