I thought I'd start a 'fun' thread out of interest....

Firsts...
In my lifetime I've seen quite a few different entertainment formats...so with a little thought here's what I could remember (in all cases these were first purchases with money I had earned; not presents etc):

First 7" single: The Land of Make Believe by Bucks Fizz
First 12" Single: Careless Whisper by George Michael
First Vinyl LP: Anthem by Toyah
First Cassette Tape: The Changeling by Toyah
First CD: Annie (Movie Soundtrack)
First VHS Tape: Blade Runner & Goonies (bought on same day)
First DVD: The Matrix
First Blu-Ray: Pinocchio: 75th Anniversary Edition

Favourites...
Going through my genres here's what I came up with (along with the conclusion that finding one favourite is nearly impossible!)

Horror: The Howling
Comedy: Noises Off!
Romance: Atonement
Drama: The Shawshank Redemption
Western: Dances with Wolves
Thriller: The Others
Television: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Fantasy: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Sci-Fi: Blade Runner
Anime Series: Wolf's Rain
Anime Film: Sky Blue (Wonderful Days)
Musical: Dreamgirls
Martial Arts: House of Flying Daggers
Adventure: King Kong (2005)
Animation: The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Disaster: The Day After Tomorrow
War: Windtalkers
Crime: CSI

And lastly...
Foibles...
I have a few custom genres and wondered what other people have. Here's mine with the amount of titles I have under them:

Ghosts (104)
Mystery (170)
Period Drama (204)
Slasher (37)
Stephen King (84)
Super Hero (160)
Time Travel (8)
Vampires (65)
Werewolves (19)
Zombies (16)

All disc counts include child profiles of TV shows etc.

Over to you guys.....
I'm sure there are people who remember their first 8-track, 78 and Laser Disc....so let's hear it.
