Amazon VOD is now enable on my Panasonic BD-60 Blu-ray player HD movies and HD TV shows. I can rent for $2.99 most of them. There also a option to buy them.

If I buy a movie does it stay on Amazon forever? Does anyone know how that works? I doubt I will buy any movies this way but just wonder how it works.

I doubt that they will stay there 'forever' but, according to their FAQ, "We store all of the videos you purchase from Amazon Video On Demand in Your Video Library, and you can choose between online and off-line viewing options at any time depending on what is most convenient for you."
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I rented Mall Cop on Amazon VOD this weekend because they had it on sale for $1.99 rental on my Tivo. I was surprised that the movie was better than I thought it would be (wasn't going to spend more than $2 on it).

However, the movie was in 4:3 format with letterboxing and not anamorphic.  Sound was in stereo.

That said, I most likely will not be utilizing Amazon's VOD in the future.
