Do I need to see Redemption before season 7 of 24? Is Redemption a "prequel" to season seven?

Yes, it is a prequel.  As to whether you need to see it or not, probably not.  It sets up some of the background, but isn't particularly integral to the season 7 storyline.

Yes, you should watch it first...otherwise you won't know why season 7 starts the way it does.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Of course you don't HAVE to... but I do believe it helps if you do see the movie first. The season does go back to the info from the movie more then once. So I would definitely suggest watching the movie first.

You don't have to watch Toy Story to enjoy Toy Story 2. You don't have to watch Die Hard to enjoy Die Hard with a Vengeance (although missing Die Hard 2 could be a blessing). But like these two examples, greater understanding can be gained by being familiar with the prequel(s). Watch it, don't watch it: your choice. But there are a few details of season seven you might miss if you skip Redemption.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

And it is also preferable to stop at Vengeance and forget 4.0      cold't help myself, sorry..

On topic - I was glad I came around the Redemption before watching the series, It is also a good feature at its own.

Die hard was the best. Die hard 4 was #2 the others weren't as good if you ask me.

I'm trying to get that Redemption dvd, but all I can find is an imported DVD. Of course I've seen it when it was on t.v.
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

I've seen it at the FreeRecordShop plenty of times.

I personally want the import anyway because as far as I know the Dutch one is the shorter version, the import is the extended one.

O.. I searched the FRS just a few weeks ago, and they didn't have it then. Trying again tomorrow.

Maybe I need to get both of them then

Thanks.
