edit: Never mind. I added some search terms to my Bing search, and it turns out it's just two different kinds of security tags in the packaging. I have no idea why eBay differentiates between the two, but I guess maybe they get their data directly from the source, and since there's two UPCs, they get two listings...

Leaving the original post for posterity...

------

I'm listing some seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation on eBay. One of the options to differentiate between different editions is the packaging, one says "Sensormatic" and one says "Checkpoint" but otherwise the editions appear identical.

Does anyone know the difference between these?

And FYI, here's some UPCs of the different packaging:

Season 1, Sensormatic: 097361569246
Season 1, Checkpoint: 097361569222

Thanks in advance for any info!

They are two different security systems. And of course they are incompatible, this is why you see multiple UPCs...how else would the distributor be able to get the correct system to the proper store.
