| Posted: | | | | The rules for the rating in a contribution says to go with what the cover says first. The swedish cover for the recent DVD of The Princess Bride states the film is "barntillåten" - rated G, allowed for all. However, the swedish ratings board gave the film an 11 rating in 1988 for cinema release. Swedish law does not demand that you have your film approved for video/DVD release, and my guess is that distributor Atlantic just felt that 20 years later this film is more of a family film and decided to give it a more lenient rating. This is perfectly fine with me, and legal. Possibly, they just didn't even look for the previous rating, and judging by them not even being able to put the right video/audio info on the cover, they probably don't care. (It says 4:3 and stereo, but has 16:9 and 5.1, and the two commentary tracks aren't even mentioned.) So to the point: Do I leave put the "barntillåten" rating, or do I put the "11"? | Posted: | | | | If they're basically allowed to choose it themselves then using the rating as per the cover would be correct.
Presumably that would be what shop keepers would use when determining whether or not someone could buy the title as well? | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Forget. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

Make sure you don't copy this information from the cover though. Of course not :D but consider this, I should put the actual audio and video, but take their word for it with the rating! Hence the question... |

| Posted: | | | | I understand your point, Cactus. So let me counter with this question, Is there something on the disc which confirms or denies the data on the back cover, OR is there some website such filmratings.com for the US which would provide something. Based on what i have read, I agree that it sounds like the Distributor made this up, BUT if there is not any form of conflicting data then....so be it. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!
