Good day, Sirs,

the crew chart lists, among others, Visual Effects Supervisor and Visual Effects Director.

Couldn't we just for once allow a "Visual Effects Art Director" to pass through? There is no Visual Effects Director.

And what is usually the difference in practice between Visual Effects Supervisor, Visual Effects Director and Visual Effects Art Director?

Love, bbbbb

Using this logic i could also interchangeably credit a film's Art Director as a Director and vice versa.

No thanks.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I would have to agree with the others... but then I personally do not add anyone unless it is in that chart word for word.

Seriously? So you never ever use the "original material by" credit, for instance?

On-topic: no to "Visual Effects Art Directors".

No... I never have... though I also only seldomly ever work on any of the crew credits... as crew is something I never really cared much about.

I agree, no credit.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Do you mean to say that Visual Effects Art Director isn't a kind of Visual Effects Director, but a kind of Art Director?

The omniscient Wikipedia describes a Visual Effects Art Director as "responsible for conceptualizing and designing visual effects shots".

"Director". "Designer".

That really sounds like a justified "Visual Effects" contribution.

At the moment, you are alone in that opinion.  You asked for input, and you got it.  At this point I see two choices.  You can ignore that input or, my preference, you can go with the majority and keep it local.
