| Posted: | | | | Hi Everyone,
i have a question and hope you can help me.
Today i bought a BluRay-Player. This Player was sold with a package of 20 BluRays. There are always two BluRay in one case. The cases are without EAN/UPC.
So my question: Is it possible to make profiles of this movies based on the Disc IDs? This would work of course. But are this profiles contributable??
Best regards Virus |

| Posted: | | | | I don't see why you couldn't profile them using the disc ID's - seems perfectly valid to me. |

| Posted: | | | | You may be stuck with local (unless someone else does the same set for you) as if I am not mistaken you can not add disc IDs without a drive in the computer. I don't think you can just input the id's with copy and paste. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Contributable, yes, in theory.... but no, in practice, until you get a Blu-ray drive.
Sorry. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm technically these would be 10 "box sets" but I guess the only way to contribute them is by individual profiles for each movie. Or maybe it's 1 box set with 20 children? It's a mess any way you do it, I'm glad I don't have to. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Sorry. I thougth a colleague from IT could help me. Also a film freak., but also no BR-Drive. I think i have to wait until i have an own drive. (Hope the profiles won't be used in an other box set until this will happen. ) | | | Last edited: by VirusPil |

| Posted: | | | | Are the titles in your set also available separately with UPCs? If so, maybe you could simply add them to your collection by title without the need to contribute. | | | Last edited: by Doombear |

It's a mess any way you do it, I'm glad I don't have to. The version 10 "box sets" won't work because on the case isn't an EAN/UPC. -> So i can't create a parent. 1 box set with 20 child could just work if i would take the EAN/UPC from the package of the BR-Player/Set. But i don't think this is very useful. (Even if i can't say, messed with the price, what's the "Gadget of this package: the BluRays or the Player. ) In my opinion, the best would be to create 20 single profile. I could make an seperate cover scan of each movie, even if there are two movies in one case. Like inserted in the case you see both front cover of the two inserted movies. (One on the front and one on the back) If you turn the cover you see both back cover. (similar to the "turn covers" that were established in Germany after establishing the new law that brought as this very big rating logos on the front) |

The movies are also sold seperately with UPCs, but i can't say (yet) if the version is totally the same. (Features, ...) Quote: If so, maybe you could simply add them to your collection by title without the need to contribute. That's how i made it. But i would like to have the version, covers, ... as i own. Private i can change all to my version and lock it, but i like to share my work. (And perhaps someone also needs this profiles and has to do the same work again) |

| Posted: | | | | Could this be a "Custom Case", box set? EAN/UPC from Player case(cardboard box), at least in waiting for proper Disc-ID, or will the program reject the EAN/UPC from the box? It is, at least, unique! (You could call this a BD-box set including a player) EDIT: Second thoughts: Still not possible to add children w/o Disc-ID, if not present already in base. EDIT II: Basically the same as VirusPil wrote... | | | Karsten | | | Last edited: by karstenp |
