Two Box Set's are release on the same day, they share a bonus disc, a contribution is made creating the bonus disc profile for one box set which is accepted by Invelos a few days later another submission is made changing the profile to the other Box Set, what is the appropriate etiquette in this situation? is this acceptable or should the people with the second Box Set just accept that the other Box Set got there first.

As always, the first submission of a profile for a certain DiscId wins.

Like you said: "the people with the second Box Set [should] just accept that the other Box Set got there first.".

There's absolutely nothing to be gained by endless ping-ponging.

But childprofiles can be added to both sets, so locally people would only need to change the coverscans. If i'm not mistaken.

Correct. The important word is "locally" though.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The only real problem in this case is the cover scans, and this could be fixed by a small change in DVD Profiler.

There shouldn't be any need to store multiple copies of the same cover, so if we could get a checkbox that said "same as parent profile" on these coverless child profiles, then it wouldn't matter if the disc is part of two boxsets.
