| Posted: | | | | In the movie they use a CG version of Arnold based on what he looked like in the original Terminator movie. According to the documentary on the disc they used molds taken of him back in the early 1980's. According to the link below Arnold approved the CG verson of himself to appear in the film as a Terminator. Quote: The figure appears in "Terminator Salvation" as a living, breathing actor. So I guess the question is, does this qualify as an uncredited cameo or is just a visual effect? This also could start popping up in more and more films in the future as they use CGI to create characters. We have credited actors who did CGI characters before as well as manipulated real life people in films such as Forest Gump. Thoughts? |

I wouldn't call it that as it is a CG character, not the actual actor. If there is no speaking part to go along with the animated character, I say leave it out. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | On this, I have no real opinion. I can see multiple sides to this argument. It was certainly entertaining to see the image of Ahrold in the film, I alm also relatively certain they had to get clearance from the Governor to include his image. Such things do happen and may be worthy of noting in some form or other, for example R2-D2 makes an appearance in Star Trek...(uncredited) of course. While I have no real opinion, BUT these are far more interesting than bunch of random Puppeteers which are not part of a cast list, but some people argue that they have value. and claim they are "performers". He should not get a credit. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | I have to agree with Hal on this one. If an actor himself did not partake, even if it's just walking by in the background, then I wouldn't credit him.
eg: in many a Marvel movie, Stan Lee is seen either saying one line or just passing by an since it's the man himself, I think it warrants an 'uncredited' cast entry. CG versions of actors, I don't think so. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I'll take an opposite view. Did Arnold get paid for his image getting used on CGI actor? If so, I would argue that he deserves some sort of credit in the cast list. Perhaps not as an actor, but maybe as "Arnold Schwarzenegger - CGI Image" or something like that. I think something like this will be used more and more in the future and Ken probably needs to come up with a ruling. What did we do with credits on CGI movies like Resident Evil: Degeneration or Final Fantasy? Did the motion actors get credit alongside voice actors? | Posted: | | | | The question is: Would you also credit Duffy Duck, Tweety, Nemo or any other animated character? Because that's what we have here, the fact that in this case the animation looks like a much younger version of an existing person doesn't make it the real person. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

There are 'hidden' characters in, just about, every Disney/Pixar feature. Do we credit them? Not if they don't have a voice we don't. This is no different. The fact that the animated character looks like a real person shouldn't change anything. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. So he don't get credited. |

| Posted: | | | | It's a CGI Arnold, so maybe you could credit him as CGI Arnold//Schwarzenegger. No, seriously - NO CREDIT even in a long shot! IMHO that is... | | | Berak

| Posted: | | | | It's not exactly the same as the poster situation though. That's a picture. This was a moving CGI generated character for the film. I'm not inclined to enter the actor for the online database, but when I actually buy the film (I still have a massive hate on for Christian Bale after learning what a douche nozzel he was) I'll probably enter Arnold in my local. | | | The night is calling. | Posted: | | | | I wouldn't enter him for the simple fact that he wasn't really involved. He didn't do motion capture, he didn't sit for a compute scanning, he never appeared on the set all. All he did was give permission for his image to be used. |
