| Posted: | | | | Today I went through the German releases of 2001: A Space Odessey. On every front cover there is over "2001" the possessive "Stanley Kubricks", so I added this to the title. Now the most contributions got many No-votes. Was this wrong? Btw, we are not speaking about the original title. This is absolute clear credited as "2001: A Space Odessey" I'm just speaking about the German title. |

•Include possessives if the front cover includes them, and if they are verifiably part of the title. If quotes surround the title in the credit block (generally on the back cover), check whether the possessive is within the quotes. In the absence of quotes to verify, check the font size used for the title on the front cover. Generally, possessives which use a significantly smaller font are not part of the title. •Possessive examples: "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride", John Carpenter's "The Thing". In each case, the portion within quotes is the title. | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

(Without possessive) So there is no possessive in original title. But the German title is different (2001: Oddyssee im Weltraum) and so the question is about taking the possessive to the German title (as written on front) or not. |

| Posted: | | | | No possessive .., but IF there were it would have to Arthur C. Clark's ... Clark not only wrote the screenplay but was on the set everyday with Stanley, overseeing this movie being made from his book The Sentinel . | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Thanks for your responses. I will withdraw my contributions changing the title .... ... and contribute the one which got good response to the contributed cover, contribute just the cover. Thx. Btw, I will change the title from German BR to just 2001: Oddyssee im Weltraum according to this. |
