There's no question that DVDProfiler is by far the best program for cataloging DVD's, but does anyone know of a similar program for other types of collections?

I have Hundreds of Books and Software packages (mostly games) and thousands of CD's & Vinyl Albums that I would also like to catalog, but I can't find a program that is anywhere near as good for those types of media as DVDProfiler is for DVD's.

I've been using the Collectorz.com apps for a few years, but as I purchased them about 3 years ago, they're out of date and I don't like their policy of having to re-purchase the software every year because they fix a few bugs and call it a new version release rather than a point release that would be a free upgrade.

Is there anything out there for these media types that even comes close to the quality and stability of DVDProfiler?

My apologies if this question has been asked before, I tried searching the forums, but I'm not sure if the search engine is offline as it keeps timing out on me...

I use Library Thing as a book catalog.  It's $25 for a lifetime membership and I've been very satisfied with it.  The drawback is that it's only online.  It is also geared toward modern books (with ISBN numbers), but you do have the option to add books manually, it's just a bit of a process.

I have my 1600+ CDs cataloged on my own webspace using an PHP/SQL script called Media Shelf that may not be available any longer.  It's very rudimentary, but it was free (you know, aside from the webspace).  Admittedly, all it gives me is author/title/genre, it has a bug where you can't delete genres, and it's also all online.  I haven't found anything I'm willing to pay for to catalog CDs, so I'm making do.  I'm using the same thing for my 30 or so VHS, and could use it to enter vinyl or cassettes.  If something comes along, I'd certainly be interested.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

For music try OrangeCD.

An alternative for Collectorz is Readerware.

I'm afraid the best I can recommend is indeed Collectorz.com. I use Comic Book Collector to keep track of my manga and have yet to find a better one. I also don't like their policy regarding paying for major updates, by the way
