| Posted: | | | | I am inputting the information for Moonlighting Season Four and have come across something I've personally never encountered before - the existence of a 'Supervising Producer' and 'Senior Producers' credit.
Is it alright to enter these as 'Producer'? I'm thinking yes, otherwise a lower Producer is credited as Producing on his own instead of all three?
I know we're not allowed to enter 'Co-Producer' or 'Associate Producer' but this is a new situation to me. |

A producer manages the budget and helps with the occasional re-write of the script, while a Supervising Producer according to Media Match, does what the title says, "supervises one or more producers in the performance of some or all of his/her/their producer functions, on single or multiple productions, either in place of, or subject to the overriding authority of an Executive Producer." The credit can only say Producer or Executive Producer in order to be submitted, no execeptions. | | | We're on a mission from God.

They are not listed in the Crew table. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | The current rules only allow 'Producer' and 'Executive Producer'. Anything else has to be left out or kept local. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. According to this site, this is what a supervising producer does: What was your role as supervising producer? All staffs work differently and are set up by the showrunner, and on that show all the writers functioned at the same level, so I had no role other than writing. We all sat in a big room and broke stories, and when it was time to write, we went to our offices and wrote. I spent a lot of my free time in editing, observing, because I was fascinated by itI also have seen credits that only list "Supervising Producer", and no "Producer". | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | You can keep it local to keep track of their credits throughout the series.
I have seen cases where someone will be credited as an associate producer one year, then a supervising producer the next and higher up later.
But it's not contributable at the current time. |

| Posted: | | | | Latest poll, by Pantheon, here (access to the Contribution Rules Committee forum needed), with a healthy support for allowing supervising producers under the current producer heading - just like we track, for instance, a "supervising art director" as "art director". |

| Posted: | | | | The poll question was: "I would like to request that Supervising Producer be added to the list of acceptable entries under Producer." While there was healthy support, it was to add that credit to the current list, not to enter it under the current rules. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Yup, as soon as Invelos updates the Crew Table based on that poll, we'll be good to go. Til then, it's not allowed. | | | Hal |
