| | Posted: | | | | I just added the absolute basics of a Blu-Ray DVD that wasn't in the DVD Profiler catalog mostly because I felt it useful to put a marker in the system than nothing. This is the very hard-to-find U.S. (Region A) Peter Pan 2003 Blu-ray available on Amazon.com. I've read the rules and they are so plentiful, I usually only try to submit cover scans sicne they are far less constrained by all the rules. But in this case, since the DVD wasn't in the system at all, I wanted to help out. A few questions: 1 - I have the UPC as 8809238 042989 (contribution I21EFA3643174B413) from the plastic wrap over the DVD case (no UPC printed on the case itself), and I scanned the Blu-ray in my blu-ray drive to ensure the right ID. But when I submitted it, I never saw (nor can I find) the UPC to ensure it is correctly cataloged. How do I find out if the UPC 8809238 042989 is correctly in the database? 2 - What's the best way to duplicate the already-entered DVD-based cast, titles and everything else into the Blu-Ray version without manually typing these in myself? | | | | Last edited: by dugn |

The correct UPC would be 12 digits, 809238 042989, amnd no it is not in the system.
Here are my suggestions
Download the DVD, 025192307225 would be the one that I would have the highest confidence in. Change the UPC to the new BD, make other corrections as necessary, such as checking BD instead of DVD and so forth. The last step I recommend very highly, verify the Cast and Crew data of your disc against the "clone". Believe it or not Credits are not necessarily universal and can vary across Regions, Localities and Versions. Once you have done the above, do a quick double check and Contribute. Be sure to advise the screeners that this is a new title and where you derived your data from.

On this site http://www.invelos.com/MyProfiler.aspx?display=contributionsare your pending contributions. Under the movie title should be the UPC. Quote:

Checking the credits would be always best, but under menu "DVD" -> "copy" (with chosen the to duplicated DVD) you can copy and with "DVD" -> "paste" (with chosen new profile) the informations you want to copy. |

A google search is showing it listed that way on a heck of a lot of sites (and very reputable stores). My first thought was he may have bought an import and not realised but the sites are pretty much all US ones... |

Amazon, for some reason shows typically 13 digit UPCs but when the title actually appears it is only 12. Since this is Amazon and not Amazon UK, I'll put my money on 12.
Seeing an image of the back isthe only real answer.

I am intrigued since I was not even aware it ever hit BD and based on Amazon marketplace pricing it must be rare indeed, hmmm, interesting. I'd like to have it, i thought it was a decent film, but I think I'll wait for ther next Sony release of it.

This Import is also to be found on Blu-ray.com if you search for Peter Pan. It's in the database there is as Korean Blu-ray and a US Blu-ray but one of the owner writes in his review that the US Version is the Korean Blu-ray.

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks for the feedback so far. Especially the discovered scans Alien. Here are pix of the actual DVD case (UPC, Front, Back, DVD in the case). This is listed as an Import, but it's a Region A DVD and it doesn't have any of the normal telltale signs that this was made in another country. | | Posted: | | | | Yep. Agree with Skip (end of the world?). Enter by UPC. It appears to be the Korean or HK release. Remember that distributors have been using the extra space to produce the same disc for many places (like they have been doing in Europe on DVD).  |
