| Posted: | | | | This past week I noticed that contributors have started applying the Bonus Feature rule to profiles that have two discs where disc one is the feature and disc two is bonus materials. The 2nd disc is not not a bonus feature film.
I'm not aware of any rule change that is allowing for the disc ID of the 2nd disc to be removed from the profile and added as child disc. Even if the bonus feature film rule was to apply all disc IDs should still remain in the parent.
I normally wouldn't bring this sort of thing up but I have seen it in more than one contribution and with more than one contributor. So has there been a change I'm not aware of? | | | Are you local? | Posted: | | | | The only situation we should do this is box sets where one disc is bonus materials that don't pair with any particular movie. |

Nope, if there really is no bonus movie (even if it was only a short-movie) on the second disc, the bonus feature rule doesn't apply. Anyhow, as you correctly stated, even if there was, the DiscID must not be removed from the discs-section of the profile. Quoting Contribution Rules: Quote: When creating a child profile, do not remove the "Bonus Feature Film" Disc ID from the main profile. So feel free to vote "No" on such contributions. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Correct. From the rules:
"If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs. Add the information to the individual film’s profile as normal for a single film 2-Disc set. If there is a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set, create a separate profile for this disc."
So what those contributors are doing is in direct violation of the rules. |

| Posted: | | | | Have to agree with the others. If it's not a box set (More than one movie) -> No child profile for bonus disc. Imho absolute against the rules.
But I've another question:
What are we doing, if there are more than one bonus disc in a box set?
All in one profile or for every bonus disc a seperate profile?
For example: The Ultimate Matrix Collection -> Box Set with three movies (+ 1 bonus disc per movie) + one disc with some short films + 3 discs of bonus material matching to the all movies. | | | Last edited: by VirusPil |

| Posted: | | | | The only time you add a profile for the bonus disc is if the bonus disc covers more then one movie in the boxset.
If more then one movie in the set... and bonus disc(s) covers all the movies in the set... then you profile the bonus disc.
For 1 movie and 1 bonus disc... no profile for the bonus disc | | | Pete |

I knew it was prohibited somewhere in the rules, I just couldn't remember where. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Sorry, I was one of the offenders. I just missed that part of the rules, so I started to add child profiles for the bonus discs as probably 60-75% of them are set up like that in my local (which I think I might've done myself a while back on second thought). For the record I was only doing this with exclusive bonus discs I wasn't sure if everyone had or not, it's never crossed my mind to make a child profile for disc 2 of Scarface for instance, as it's part of the standard package.
Anyway, after a couple no votes I resubmitted without any changes to the disc ID's and no boxset contents for the bonus.
What do we do with these when the UPC isn't exclusive to the version with the bonus disc though? Say the first round has a sticker and bonus disc, then it comes back a few weeks/months later with the same UPC but no more bonuses? I'd personally be annoyed to plug in a UPC and see I should have a bonus disc I didn't get!
And while we're on the subject, here's some UPC's of dvds I have that came with bonus discs, I'm curious to see if anyone has the same UPC's without bonus discs. I imagine this wouldn't be too rare if you bought the disc used, I've kept bonus discs and sold the standard package more than once, but really interested if bought new without a bonus. Starred ones are of extra interest due the challenge of getting the bonus disc at all.

I still have the bonus disc, but sold the dvd when I upgraded to blu so I don't have the UPC anymore.
These I'm 99% sure all steelbook had the bonus discs, and are the ones without child profiles for the bonuses locally. 796019804967 - Death Proof steelbook 796019806299 - Planet Terror steelbook |
