I'd vote for him (if he was up for it and I was American!)
My favourite Garfield strip (which I don't have the ability to post a picture of so bear with me) was:
PANEL 1
Garfield walking while holding a spider on a dangling piece of web silk.
PANEL 2
Same pose except the spider was now pointing directly upwards and had 'movement' lines to show its upward swing.
PANEL 3
Same as Panel 2 with caption: 'Found a spider in the freezer'.
